WOQOD opens a Service Station in Doha Industrial Area
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened another new service station, this time in the Doha Industrial Area. The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending were Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

“This in one of the largest service stations we have built,” said Al Sobai. “We have recognized the huge demand for diesel for the light and heavy trucks in the Doha Industrial Area and built our facilities to cater for this. The service station has dedicated separate roads for these vehicles together with high speed diesel dispensers so we can fuel these trucks quickly.”

WOQOD Opens another service station in Al Rayan
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened another new service station, this time in Al Rayan

The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending were Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

The service station features a new brushless automatic car wash machine using technology from the American company PDQ. Commenting on this Mr. Mohammed Turki Al Sobai stated ‘We have experienced a huge demand for car washing in our existing service stations. This new brushless car wash is the very latest technology in car washing. The system relies on high pressure water to remover dust and dirt from vehicles. As there are no brushes there is no risk of scratching vehicles.”

Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened a new service station in Dukhan.

The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending are Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

The petrol station has been uniquely designed to meet the needs of different customers in Dukhan. This includes provision for stand-alone high speed diesel dispensers to cater to the industry supporting Dukhan’s oil field operations. With the large number of trucks in the area, the service station includes truck washing facilities, a first for WOQOD.

WOQOD to Pay QR 7 Dividend per Share

Doha, February 21, 2008: The Board of Directors of Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) has recommended to distribute QR 7 per share, or 70 percent, as cash dividend to the shareholders for 2007.

WOQOD’s Board of Directors chaired by H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of WOQOD’s Board of Directors met on Tuesday, February 19, to approve financials of the company in 2007.

Talking of the company’s robust financials last year, its Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mohamed Turki Al Sobai said net profits had reached QR 616m as compared to QR 431m in 2006, showing an increase of QR 185m, or 43 percent.

Total assets have increased to QR 2,699m as compared to QR 2,230m in 2006, reflecting an increase of QR 469m, or 21 percent.

Total equity has also increased significantly to QR 1,539m as compared to QR 1,017m in 2006, up by QR 522m, or 51 percent.

The remarkable progress which the company has achieved in 2007 is reflected in other major financial indicators, Al Sobai added.

Basic earning per share (after excluding minority interest) has reached QR 20.54 compared to QR 14.4 in 2006, showing an increase of 43 percent.

Al Sobai also highlighted some major accomplishments of the company in 2007 and projects which were under way.
