WOQOD opens a Service Station in Doha Industrial Area
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened another new service station, this time in the Doha Industrial Area. The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending were Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

“This in one of the largest service stations we have built,” said Al Sobai. “We have recognized the huge demand for diesel for the light and heavy trucks in the Doha Industrial Area and built our facilities to cater for this. The service station has dedicated separate roads for these vehicles together with high speed diesel dispensers so we can fuel these trucks quickly.”

WOQOD Opens another service station in Al Rayan
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened another new service station, this time in Al Rayan

The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending were Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

The service station features a new brushless automatic car wash machine using technology from the American company PDQ. Commenting on this Mr. Mohammed Turki Al Sobai stated ‘We have experienced a huge demand for car washing in our existing service stations. This new brushless car wash is the very latest technology in car washing. The system relies on high pressure water to remover dust and dirt from vehicles. As there are no brushes there is no risk of scratching vehicles.”

Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened a new service station in Dukhan.

The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending are Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

The petrol station has been uniquely designed to meet the needs of different customers in Dukhan. This includes provision for stand-alone high speed diesel dispensers to cater to the industry supporting Dukhan’s oil field operations. With the large number of trucks in the area, the service station includes truck washing facilities, a first for WOQOD.

QATAR FUEL (WOQOD) AND Q-JET achieve ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFICATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Certification confirms the organizations’ commitment to excellent customer service.


Doha, March 2, 2009 - Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) and Q-Jet, affiliate companies who have the sole concession of marketing, distribution and storage of all petroleum products and related services in the State of Qatar, announced that all its business processes and support services have achieved the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification last 11 December 2008, from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), the world's leading international provider of business assurance and management system certification services.

Customers of WOQOD and Q-Jet, which includes all residents of the State of Qatar, rely on WOQOD and Q-Jet for the continuous availability of fuel products, and related services to provide the highest quality of support. The voluntary certification assures the customers of WOQOD and Q-Jet’s commitment to quality and continual improvement in delivering superior products and services.

"Achieving ISO 9001:2000 certification is a remarkable milestone for WOQOD, Q-Jet and all our customers," said Mr. Mohammed Turki Al Sobai, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of WOQOD and General Manager of Q-Jet. "The certification process required a lot of hard work over a 14-month period and demonstrates WOQOD and Q-Jet’s continued commitment to our customers and our quality of product and services".

ISO 9001:2000 standard specifies Quality Management System (QMS) requirements focused on organizations’ ability to meet and improve upon customer satisfaction and quality requirements. As part of the certification process, WOQOD and Q-Jet established their own QMS to ensure that the marketing and distribution of all petroleum products and related services in the State of Qatar continued its long-standing commitment to customer satisfaction. WOQOD and Q-Jet has embraced a management system beyond the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standards through the use of powerful tools such as Balanced Scorecard in setting objectives, targets and programs, 8D Method for corrective and preventive procedures, best practices in bunkering (WQMBS) and other best practices to name a few which are consistent with the organizations’ vision to be the leader in the Region. The achievement of the ISO certification illustrates that ISO standards and best practices are part of the process of achieving this vision.”

"WOQOD and Q-Jet’s Management and steering committees have successfully implemented an effective quality management system based on the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard and beyond," said Nayef Saeed Al-Hajiri, Administration Manager and Quality Management Representative of the two companies.
