WOQOD opens a Service Station in Doha Industrial Area
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened another new service station, this time in the Doha Industrial Area. The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending were Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

“This in one of the largest service stations we have built,” said Al Sobai. “We have recognized the huge demand for diesel for the light and heavy trucks in the Doha Industrial Area and built our facilities to cater for this. The service station has dedicated separate roads for these vehicles together with high speed diesel dispensers so we can fuel these trucks quickly.”

WOQOD Opens another service station in Al Rayan
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened another new service station, this time in Al Rayan

The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending were Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

The service station features a new brushless automatic car wash machine using technology from the American company PDQ. Commenting on this Mr. Mohammed Turki Al Sobai stated ‘We have experienced a huge demand for car washing in our existing service stations. This new brushless car wash is the very latest technology in car washing. The system relies on high pressure water to remover dust and dirt from vehicles. As there are no brushes there is no risk of scratching vehicles.”

Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) today opened a new service station in Dukhan.

The new service station was inaugurated by WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director Mohammed Turki Al Sobia. Also attending are Members of the Board of Directors of WOQOD, and valued guests, WOQOD employees and suppliers.

The petrol station has been uniquely designed to meet the needs of different customers in Dukhan. This includes provision for stand-alone high speed diesel dispensers to cater to the industry supporting Dukhan’s oil field operations. With the large number of trucks in the area, the service station includes truck washing facilities, a first for WOQOD.

WOQOD to phase out 48kg LPG cylinder by Year End to Introduce fixed bulk LPG Tanks

Doha, October 2009 - Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) announced today that effective from the end of 2009 they will be withdrawing 48kg (100 liters) LPG cylinders from the market. WOQOD have recently started to commission their new LPG bottling and bulk loading plant which is located in the New Industrial Area of Doha.

The planned phase out of the 48kg cylinders will occur as the new filling plant is fully operational and the existing filling plant run by Qatar Petroleum in Meisaeed is decommissioned.

“The 48kg cylinder is heavy and dangerous to handle,” stated Mohammed Turki Al Sobai, WOQOD’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director. “We are encouraging users of these cylinders to switch to fixed bulk tanks. The new tanks will be supplied by WOQOD and installed by one of five authorized LPG installation contractors. The premises of each individual customer can be professionally surveyed and a recommendation made for the size of LPG tank and the best location for safety.

“Installation options will include gas leak detection systems and different piping options. WOQOD’s dedicated fleet of modern LPG road tankers will provide a safe and reliable delivery service to ensure that customers have a continuous supply of LPG. This latest initiative by WOQOD further demonstrates the company’s dedication to improve the safe handling of the products and services WOQOD offers to its customers.”
