Qatarization
One of WOQOD’s missions is training and developing competencies
of national workforce to reach 50% Quality Qatarization by 2008 in the Company.
Thus, WOQOD is striving relentlessly to attract Qatari Nationals for employment
to support the strategic Quality Qatarization Plan that was developed in 2000 by the Government.
WOQOD started in 2002 with Qatarization ratio of 20% that reached 23% in 2004.
In July 2005, the Company produced a recruitment advertisement in local newspapers,
seeking for Qatari Nationals who aspire for development and advancement,
and who meet the requirements to apply for WOQOD, promising them support and corporate training
and development, in order to reach quality competent Qataris for sensitive
permanent positions in the future.
In a further step, WOQOD participated in the First Career Fair, Doha from 12-14 February 2006,
which was organized by Qatar Petroleum and its affiliated companies in the energy sector.
The Company then provided the opportunity for high school students, university graduates and
parents to explore the business of WOQOD and to learn more about the endless recruitment
and training opportunities for Qataris in the Company.
